Zoda Design Blog
So you have a website. Now what?
Having a website for your business is always a positive step in the right direction, since your website is just another form of marketing. However, for your website to be truly effective, you cannot stop there. If you don’t keep your website current, or make it interesting enough for people to come back to, you’re doing a disservice to your business.
Here are some ideas on how to keep your website relevant and interesting:
- Make regular updates
- Do you have a testimonial from a new customer? Post it on your website. Do you have a new team member? Tell your clients about him/her.
- Be educational.
- Write blog posts, post how-to videos or infographics, and host webinars. (See my recent post on Using Education Marketing for Lead Generation.)
- Use images.
- The human brain processes images MUCH faster than text, so adding visual interest is a great way to get and keep someone’s attention.
- Have a web-only special
- If you change your web-only special often, customers will return to your website for the coupon, and your business to spend money.
On top of that, you need to keep an eye on how your website is doing. Google Analytics comes standard with each website we do, but it’s up to you (or someone you designate) to track who is on your website, where they’re coming from, how long they’re staying, and what your popular content is. Stay tuned for a post about what Google Analytics is and how you can use it to help your website.
