5 Tips on How to MAKE Money with Your Website
I’m willing to bet the majority of my readers have a website already, and I’m so glad you do! You have to wonder, though, if it could be doing more for you. So many business owners just have what we in the biz like to call “an online brochure” – information only, with no real benefit other than just being there. While it’s certainly better than nothing, there are a handful of things that you can do with your website so that it makes you money.
1. Sell your product and/or service (obviously)
Do you have a product or service that someone could potentially purchase via your website? Make sure they have the ability to do so! Ecommerce is not all that difficult to set up and there’s really no downside to letting your website do the selling for you.
2. Offer a web-only special
When customers know that you offer web-only specials, they’ll peruse your website more frequently in order to get these deals. Specials such as these encourage people to spend money at your business, and that’s never a bad thing. Also, having people make regular visits to your website helps your search engine rankings – and even more so if people share it on social media!
3. Advertise on your website
Nobody really likes ads but I’m sure we wouldn’t have them if they didn’t work! If your website has a good following you can sell ad space in order to make money – you’ll get paid every time someone clicks on the ad!
4. Become an affiliate
This is sort of like ads, where you get paid if someone clicks on a link, but in this case you’re essentially recommending a product or service. Affiliate links should really only be a product or service that you have used and trust, otherwise you’ll ruin your reputation with your website visitors.
You should definitely have an email newsletter, if you don’t already. Having an opt-in on your website will allow you to collect people’s email addresses and get their permission for you to send them your newsletter. And, let’s face it, that email newsletter is really just another way to get them to spend money with you!
Give one or several of these tips a try today! Who knows what kind of money you can make from your website if you put a little effort into it. Many thanks to my friend Rich Doherty at Western & Southern Life for suggesting this topic for a blog post!
