Keeping Websites Up with Uptime Robot

With last year’s server drama, I found it necessary to enlist the help of a separate company to monitor the websites I host, since I’m unable to check all of them at all hours of the day (hey, I have to sleep sometime…). After doing some research I decided to open an account with Uptime Robot. This service is free for up to 50 monitors, so if you’d like to keep tabs on the uptime of your website, you should definitely sign up.
Not only am I able to have it test my websites every five minutes, but I also have it set up to send me text messages when any of my sites go down. From the dashboard you have access to useful statistics such as your overall uptime, latest downtime, and how many monitors you’re using. You can also export your logs in case you need evidence when fighting with your hosting company (but we shouldn’t ever NEED to do that ever again, thankfully).
While there are other services out there that also do this, I found the best reviews of Uptime Robot during my research. They have a helpful support team, have a great pricing scheme, and the best part was the 50 free monitors.
