Expanding is (Sometimes) Easy!
When it comes to websites, expanding is easy. When it comes to businesses in general, it is not always a smooth process! I am learning that lately, since I decided to add services and, thus, employees.
No this isn’t a normal, educational blog post – more like some thoughts on the process of expanding one’s business, because I know you’ve all probably had to do it at one point or another, too!
I honestly never wanted to expand – I love that I can give personal attention to my clients and that each project was handled by me and only me. I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that I can still give personal attention, but in order to not remain stagnant I have to pass off some responsibilities to others.
It’s scary, it really is. I have trust issues, especially when it’s trusting someone with my business, which is so very close to my heart and soul. Will I find someone amazing, or will good people prove to be hard to find (which is what I’m hearing)? Will I find someone who loves my business as much as I do, and want to make it successful as much as I do (probably not). Will it even be worth my time??
And since the stars always seem to align weirdly, I just got a phone call from a client who is looking to hire a marketing person and asked if I had any idea how to do that… I love my clients. They make me smile.
Anyhow… I’ve posted a couple of jobs on Indeed.com, and have some interviews scheduled already. If you’re reading this and know of anyone interested in a part-time web design / development or a commission-based sales position, please have them email me!
